About Grace Placencio

Grace Placencio with Mark Madio

Grace Placencio Davies is the Principal and founder of GPD Lawyers established in 2002.

Grace, who is originally from Chile and Spanish speaking, has been practising exclusively in Personal Injury Law since 1992 when she was admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Victoria. Grace commenced her legal career in the early 90’s in the most litigious law firm of its time, Clements Hutchins & Co in the Melbourne CBD where Grace developed into the strong female advocate of civil rights she has since become, defending the underprivileged, the aggrieved and the injured with incomparable passion, dedication and empathy in her pursuit for justice, equality and fairness to all.

In 1995 Grace became a Partner at David Stagg Tonkin & Placencio in Greensborough where she continued to flourish as a Personal Injury Lawyer representing and defending the rights of Acquired Brain injured victims.

Grace still remembers that day so many years ago at the Rehabilitation Hospital ward when Grace first met Mark Madio and his parents... Mark was only 19 years of age and was in a coma as a result of a transport accident.

Grace held Mark’s and his father’s hand and from that moment onwards Grace was the support and the strength the family needed in Mark’s journey to recovery.  When Mark's case finished, his father brought Mark to Grace's office on a wheelchair and Mark was able to write on a pad

"Thank you Grace".

This is what we are all about, helping the vulnerable and their families get their life back.
